Bittering hop.
The high beta acid means that its bitterness utilisation is very good.

Bred for its Beta content at Horticulture Research International (HRI) at Wye College in the UK in 1995, it went to farm trials in 2006 and whilst not a well-established hop it is one well worth experimentation.
Noted for its small, late cones Beata is a lovely aroma hop with a classically British complexity. It is a hedgerow plant that is late maturing with its crop on the top half of the wirework structure.

Beata has a strong tolerance of wilt disease and good levels of resistance to downy and powdery mildews.
